An album that became legend... "Whitney" after more than 35 years remains the album where perfection is touched by hand ... perfection from every point of view ... graphics, colors, images, choice of songs, the sequence of singles that were extracted and related videos made for each of them But what makes this disc a masterpiece are mainly the 11 songs contained Here is really all of Whitney for which the world fell madly in love with her to the point of consecrating her the unique and unrepeatable artist who remains to this day "I wanna dance with somebody" shook the dance floors all over the world... with its rhythm and those vibes so enthralling as to become a timeless song... ageless... in fact, no one can define it as a dated song because it is vital, emotional and full of positive energy All this in addition to its wonderful sound is thanks to the verve of which Whitney is the undisputed master But the album "Whitney" is full of many other surprises such as the less known but worthy of full consideration songs, one above all "You're still my man" ballad that reaches superhuman boundaries in the emotional aspect, it is not just a a song to listen to but a song to live because it contains immense spaces to explore Of this album remains my absolute favorite track so many years later "Just the lonely talking again"....where Whitney expresses all her R&B and Gospel vein and almost seems to want to say to everyone who listens: "I am this....I come from this, this is the way to sing that I was born to" "Love will save the day","So emotional" "Love Is a contact sport" show Whitney who loved to entertain and have fun without ever being frivolous and superficial ... songs that we have all let ourselves be overwhelmed by and that we will listen to endlessly without ever getting bored "Where you are" and "For the love of you" soft ballads that touch and relax the mood because they are sweet and pleasant like caresses from a loved one... Whitney in these two songs does not free her voice with crazy virtuosity that distinguish it but also manages to warm up and restore good mood And then the grand finale: "I know him so well"... where all of us teenagers at the time (I was 13 when "Whitney" was released) finally managed to hear the voice of mum Cissy and we were all baffled by this splendid song Many versions of this song have been proposed, but Whitney's is truly excellent .... this duet has managed to distinguish itself from all the other covers made A truly unprecedented track, one to listen to and instantly understand Whitney's unparalleled talent, skill and genius
