The shirt isn't soft at all, but the material seems to be decent quality. The cotton is thick, but not too thick. It's also somewhat fitted and not oversized like the unisex ones you might buy at a concert. I'm 5'3'', 120lbs and the small fits me well. There are tiny tears at the top of the shirt if you can't tell from the photo that are meant to make the shirt look vintage or distressed.
